The Taste of Gloucestershire Food and Farming Awards took place at The Centaur, Cheltenham Racecourse on Monday 30th October. These awards are some of the most prestigious accolades for businesses working in the food and farming sectors in the County.
Frank Smith, of Frank Smith & Co, was delighted to attend the event and to be invited to present, along with Phil Vickery and Alex Lovell, the Business of the Year award to Hillside Brewery of Holly Bush Farm near Longhope, Gloucestershire.
This award goes to a Food or Drink business that shows real commitment to Gloucestershire. The judging criteria took into account their use of local produce, local suppliers, and an innovative approach to products and services.
Hillside Brewery was founded in 2014 with a simple mission statement “to create a brewery that is part of the local community”. In 2017 it produced CAMRA’s Champion Mild beer of Gloucestershire with “Over The Hill” and, also in 2017, Expedia listed it as the Number 1 brewery tour in the UK and Ireland.
